Nepal Training
Students have begun training for their upcoming Nepal Expedition.
A groups will be visiting the country and hiking the majestic Khopra Ridge during Deep Learning + Week next month.
A pre-trip preparation session was held, which included a 12.4km, five hour hike from Sai Kung.
It was aimed at helping the students to get familiar with their personal gear, experience day hiking in challenging terrain, connect as a team, and try some Nepalese cuisine.
Along the way, they learned a number of valuable lessons, including how to manage blisters, the importance of staying hydrated, that two litres of water may not be enough during intense hikes, and the usefulness of carrying superglue for emergencies like loose shoe soles.
Most importantly, the experience helped them to develop confidence, showing that with teamwork and some training, they will be well-prepared for our Nepal Expedition.
